The mighty nature of America
Welcome to British Columbia! This is a new location we really can recommend. We had test trips in 2012 and 2013 – it was a great success. The big and beautiful Bear Claw lodge, the wild rivers, its all a lovely scene.
On this trip we fish in three different rivers. Kispiox river, Babine junction and the lower Bulkley. Kispiox is the river we will fish mostly in. During the stay we will be accomodated in the Bear Claw Lodge.
Bearclaw is home to the 15,000 square foot post-and-beam lodge located on the world-famous Kispiox River (Containing the world’s largest strain of wild Steelhead). Imposing 22’ carved Totem Poles stand guard in the foyer behind the massive, three story river rock fireplace. Snowcapped Baldy Mountain dominates the view from the dining room windows, where the heliskiiers are only an 8 minute flight from. Bedroom sliding glass doors open to a stone walk balcony overlooking the Kispiox River. The outdoor handcrafted cedar sauna is footsteps out your sliding door. The scent of cedar and fresh homemade bread drifts through the lodge. It truly is, a luxury accommodation in the wilderness.
They have a games room featuring a Kispiox river rock jacuzzi, foos ball table, pool table, satellite T.V., cards table and comfortable furniture. The lodge has free wireless internet and a satellite phone.
